Food Chemist

About the role

We are looking for a driven, self-motivated, and passionate Food Chemist with proven experience in meat flavor to join our team in Paris as soon as possible to continue a research career in a fast-paced R&D startup lab.


Furthermore you will

  • Drive research to develop and improve delicious GOURMEY products
  • Designing, developing and executing food chemistry experiments
  • Assess and communicate all findings
  • Connect the dots between molecular biology and food science, merging the two fields to achieve our goals

About you

  • PhD in food chemistry or proven R&D experience in meat flavor and meat science
  • Proven expertise in aroma compounds and analytical chemistry (GC-MS, LC-MSMS)
  • Knowledge in food matrix and interactions between components such as fat and proteins and their impact on
    texture
  • General knowledge on enzymes/metabolism involved in meat food product would be a plus
  • Previous experience in patent applications would be a plus
  • General knowledge on sensory analysis would be a plus
  • Computer skills: know how to manage a database (literature, samples), Google drive, Microsoft Office, bioinformatics
    tools (e.g. Python) to analyse high throughput data
  • Organized, proactive, accurate, innovative and creative
  • Good communication skills
  • Team player
